The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. - James A. Michener

Hot Summer Setting

Credit must be given to Delores from Vignette Design...I borrowed her idea of using the Mason's Apple Basket plate for the middle dinner plate (white & green plate)...it blends well and is the right green. Check out her blog vignettedesign@blogspot.com ...
Placemats, napkins, willow hurricane candleholders from Williams Sonoma. Bordallo Pinheiro leaf plates. Ajka crystal flute.

Great title for your blog!! Looks like you are a newbie but certainly not by the table you set! It is nicely balanced and the colour combo is terrific. I like how the woven texture on the hurricanes compliments the chargers. Looking forward to seeing more from you! I'm proud to be a follower!

Love your blog header picture. I am from Utah too, so it is nice to see another Utah girl. I think I have only done 4 or 5 tablescapes so far. My blog is only 2 months old, but I really have enjoyed this new pasttime too so I understand. Now, just where to put everything!!!

Lovely table! Those linens are fantastic, and I love the way you've layered those different plates to add interest. The centerpiece is perfect for this table!

Forgot to add that I have those same vintage green glasses -- aren't they great? I looked them up and think they are Hocking for Fire King's Burple (weird name!) in forest green.

Sharon,
your table just make my heart beat faster. What an amazing design have your placemats and napkins. Whow! This vibrant red (in the fabrics) and green (of the crytal) reminds me to rubies and emaralds in a precious gem. Really outstanding and I love that the chargers, flatware and the wonderfull dishes, too. All is really perfect. I am a new follower of your blog.
Greetings, Johanna

I'm saving your tablescape in my resource file. You and I share a number of the same items. I'm an advocate of layering plates, too. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
